I'ont know bout you, but as far as me an our households, Christmas was always more of a celebration of family and life.

Grandmama would make cakes and pies and rolls. Ma and Aunt Wanda would be singing, not so-Christmas Carols. Al Green and The Temptations would be playing in the background. The living room would be bursting with presents always wrapped in blue.

And when the clock struck 12am, everyone would raise their voices to sing Happy Birthday to Grandmama.

I am wishing you a happy holidays with a gift in tow. While this year has had its up and downs as every year before that. We did something magical, continued in the pursuit freedom for ourselves and our communities.

Because of YOU, here. there. everywhere. existed in time and space and I will be forever grateful to you for that.

Tomorrow is my Great-Grandmother Annett's Birthday, in her honor I wanted to celebrate what she taught me. To love abundantly in all ways that I know how. To continue to grow in love when it gets hard. And most importantly to share your love with others beyond the special days and put the photos on wall to let them know that you care.
